- Clean the filter in the bottom of the tub. Rinse off food and grease.
- Check the drain hose where you can see it, such as under the sink. Look for kinks or blockages.
- Check the drain connection at the sink or disposal for a blockage.
Call a pro if
- The 5E code comes back after you have cleaned the filter and checked the hose.
- Dirty water stays in the bottom of the machine and will not drain away.
- You see water leaking, or you cannot reach the drain hose without pulling the machine out.

- Switch the machine off. Check the drain hose has no kinks or bends and is at least 60cm above the floor.
- Clean the drain pump filter behind the small front door. Wipe the recess, refit the filter and turn it clockwise to lock it.
- Switch on and run a cycle. The machine should drain at the start. If it doesn't, stop and get help.
Call a pro if
- The 5E code comes back after you have cleaned the filter and checked the hose.
- The machine still will not drain, or water is left in the drum.
- You see water leaking, or you smell burning or hear a loud noise from the pump.
