Try first
- Look at the drain hose under the sink. Straighten any kinks or bends in it.
- Choose Cancel & Drain on the control panel to pump out the water. Use it once.
- If the code clears, run an empty cycle with a cup of vinegar or dishwasher cleaner.
Do not
- Do not keep re-running cycles if OE comes back after these steps. LG says the unit then needs repair.
Call a pro if
- OE comes back after you have checked the hose and run Cancel & Drain.
- OE shows on the very first cycle of a new dishwasher or new waste disposal. The drain hose may be fitted wrongly.
- Water stays in the tub, or you see leaks or water on the floor.

- Straighten and clear the hose if it is kinked or clogged. Then restart the machine once.
- Check the drain filter for a clog. Keep a bucket ready for leftover water.

- The OE code comes back after you have cleared the hose and filter and restarted once.
- Water stays in the drum and will not drain at all.
- You see water leaking from the machine or around the floor.
